ONSW/ACT Super Sunday Conference to be held in collaboration with ODMAFair25

The Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association of Australia, (ODMA), is very excited to announce that Optometry NSW/ACT branch (ONSW/ACT) have accepted the offer extended by ODMA to hold their Super Sunday event at the same venue and during the same dates as ODMAFair25.

ODMA CEO, Amanda Trotman stated that she is “very focused on collaboration that assists like-minded optical organisations to work together to stage these valuable live events whilst simultaneously reducing overall overheads given the economies of scale and the high cost of staging live events. These events running alongside each other helps attract attendance to all the components, which benefits us all.” Amanda went on to say, “This is an important achievement that always takes a bit of pre-planning on everyone’s part. However, it will provide great outcomes for event attendees, exhibitors and all event stakeholders alike.”

Super Sunday, organised by Optometry New South Wales/ACT, will be held on Sunday, 29th June 2025, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) at Darling Harbour, under the same roof as ODMAFair25.

Andrew McKinnon, CEO of Optometry New South Wales/ACT, stated, “Putting ODMAFair and Super Sunday together under the ICC roof gives optometrists from all over Australia the best possible reason to spend the weekend in Sydney”.

Andrew also went on to say, “ODMAFair is, of course, the premier optical fair in the southern hemisphere, and Super Sunday provides optometrists with an unparalleled opportunity to obtain a significant number of their CPD hours in a single day. The conjunction of the two events within the ICC means that delegates can move easily between both at their leisure and, quite literally, enjoy the best of both worlds!”

Amanda Trotman commented that “a lot of work was going into the program format to ensure streams and sessions did not conflict with each other, that there were sessions for all team members within a practice and that there was ample time for all visitors to explore what will be a large and valuable product and service showcase in the nearby trade fair halls.“

ODMA welcomes input on practice pain points and opportunities that the industry would like to see covered in the ODMAFair25 program. Given planning is well under way, these are to be sent asap to events@odma.com.au

Trade fair space is currently being released in stages to ODMA members and past exhibitors and the broader optical industry. Those wishing to exhibit should receive information in the coming weeks or are welcome to reach out to Trudi on events@odma.com.au
